Unbelievable...

The mighty Red Wings, they of the many Stanley Cup rings and banners, Hall of Fame caliber players, huge payroll, vanquished by the Calgary Flames last night 1-0 for the second straight night and ending their playoff run. Mitch Albom of the Detroit Free Press put it well....

>>>Here's the bottom line: You don't win games with your roster, your stats or your reputation. You win with what you bring -- and what you leave -- on the ice.

Calgary left everything it had.

The Wings left for the airport.<<<

Exactly. The Wings have expected teams to roll over for them the last two years, and Anaheim last year and Calgary this year were unwilling to do so. On paper, the Wings were the better team in every category. On ice, they didn't show it. It will be a long summer in Hockeytown.
