Double standards anyone?

Fox News has been running a report on an editorial from the San Francisco Chronicle, one in which the writer, Ms. Ruth Rosen, accuses the founder of Curves, Gary Heavin, of being a big supporter of the pro-life movement.

First, why should this be seen as an accusation? Is it a crime to be a supporter, even a vehement supporter, of the pro-life cause? I know Patricia Ireland, Whoopi "The Great Orator" Goldberg and their ilk would like to criminalize opposition to abortion, but it still is legal in this country.

Second, when contractors in Texas boycotted a building site for a new Planned Parenthood abortion mill, the abortion advocates were shrieking about shadowy tactics and suppression. Now we have a pro-abortion gal suggesting that women who are trying to get in shape should boycott Curves because the founder supports the pro-life cause. I guess free speech only goes one way?

I loved the invectives she used and quoted, the typical leftist fare to avoid discussion:

"some of the most militant anti-abortion groups in the country"

"right-wing fundamentalist"

Ah, let's avoid the debate in favor of rhetoric. I doubt she would refer to her pro-abortion friends as "militant pro-abortion groups" or "left-wing radical", and undoubtedly would be offended if anyone else did.

She does begrudgingly throw in later that the crisis pregnancy centers he supports offer all the same "choices" except abortion:

>>>By offering the same health services provided by Planned Parenthood -- except abortion -- anti-abortion activists hope that privately financed alternatives will force the closure of any clinics that don't insist "you must carry your child to term." <<<

So here is a "pro-choice" type who is upset because they offer woman a real CHOICE! Oh the horror!

Liberals are so beholden to the idol of abortion that they can't even see the hypocrisy. You want to boycott Curves, go right ahead. But don't go shrieking when the pro-life movement does some boycotting of it's own.

By the way, how apropos is his name? A born again Chirstian with the last name of Heavin!
