R.C. Sproul on Headcovering

Listenened to a very interesting talk by Dr. Sproul on 1 Cor 11: 2-15, the passage that calls for women to cover their heads when in prayer or prophesying. I like a lot of what he has to say here and his wife Vespa wears a hat in the corporate gathering of the church. He points out that the revolt against women covering their heads corresponded with the general revolt against the headship of the husband in the family. Little wonder that as men abandoned their leadership in the home and church, women filled the vacuum and stopped covering their heads along with taking over leadership in the church and home.

This was an especially pertinent quote:

“It frightens me that we’re taking our cue not from the Scripture but from the culture or the fashions where we live”

How on earth could you take seriously anything that a man who believes in baptizing infants says?

I try not to hold his error in the issue of dribbling water on infants against him.

Your a good man, Arthur! :)

Naamen would be proud of you!

He experienced what a little water could do when God's promise was attached to it.

Most churches I've been to wouldn't allow a woman to either pray or prophesy in church, so wearing a covering or not is immaterial.
