A plea for consistency

News reports today say that President Obama said in a speech that he leans on his Christian faith to get him through the hard times....

President Barack Obama gave an unusually personal speech about his religious faith on Thursday, saying that "it is the biblical injunction to serve the least of these that keeps me going and keeps me from being overwhelmed," in address to a prayer breakfast in Washington.

How tragic that his concern for "the least of these" doesn't start until they are born.

I noticed the time stamp on the story is 12:01AM, but the story reads as if Obama's speech has already taken place, then ends up discussing what other speakers will say as if it's really 12:01AM and nothing has happened yet. Regardless, the speech is well planned, strategized, focus-grouped, available beforehand, etc.

I frankly don't believe much that comes out of anyone's mouth at the federal level as being their own words in a planned event like this. Because it is a planned event with planned words. I think Paul would call it "excellency of speech".

Signed executive orders....that's another story.
