A message for working moms

Great Post from Life In A Shoe

I hear all the time that working women envy my wife because she can stay home, even though the reality is that she works way harder than any of the women (or men) that I have ever worked with. Kim at Life In A Shoe really nails this down. Do you really want to stay home? Because that means sacrifices. Or do you mean you like the concept but would never consider giving up cable or new cars or expensive vacations? I had this conversation with a lot of women as a banker and it was rarely the case that they couldn't stay at home, they just decided that what they had to give up was too precious.

Check out what Kim wrote: An open letter to working moms.

As with most things in life, where there is a will there is way. People talk, talk, talk, all the day long about what they wish for, but take no concrete steps to make it happen. A good book to read is by Amy Dacyzyn, The Tightwad Gazette, it is a compilation of all of her newsletters, Amy knows how to stretch a dollar, and how to plan to achieve goals set in life. For each family considering the "radical" step of having Mom stay home, I pray that you do more than just consider, please make a plan, save money, cut expenses, and make it a reality! It is doable, and the rewards are priceless!!!
