Great post from Alan Knox: The Unhypocritical Church
How can we live out the Christian life described in so many places in Scripture, especially in Romans 12, if we see each other for only a couple of hours a week in a structured setting where we rush in and typically rush back out?
This is a big struggle for those seeking to live out a Biblical ecclesiology. We may be getting closer to the perceived intent when the church gathers for its scheduled meeting but when it comes to living out the life of Christians together, we seem to be much further away from where we should be. Part of this is a traditional and cultural conditioning to see “church” as a weekly event, not a way to live. Part of it, at least for me, is laziness and selfishness.
I will say we do a pretty poor job of this as a family but we are hoping to change that. We are really looking forward to inviting the church into our home so we can get to know them and in doing so find out how we can love them and minister to them.

my pastor from time to time says :
" let's be the church today instead of going to church"... that means we will take a sunday and have fellowship instead of normal sunday service. etc.
Good post!
