Where were you?

Seven years ago, I was getting up to go to work at Fidelity Investments. Just another boring day in the office. Then everything changed.

It is amazing to me, just seven years later how little September 11th means to us anymore. Seven years ago 19 men, believing in a false god in a false religion killed themselves along with 3000 others for a lie. Pray for Muslims today. They may not all fly planes into buildings, but they are all just as lost a Mohammad Atta and the other hijackers.

Never Forget

The night of Sept 10-11, 2001 I stayed up a bit later than usual, not going to bed until about 6am, EST. I remember thinking just before lying down that America really needed to change -stop being so narcissistic and money-focused. We need to get back to teaching morals and values to kids, etc. I didn't get up until early afternoon Sept 11, 2001 -by then, the world had changed. America had changed, and in the following days would continue to change. At first, it looked as though people would go back to embracing morals, values, things that were important to our founding fathers...and then I saw a car company using the feeling of patriotism to sell their product.

Unfortunately, in the last 7 years, America hasn't changed that much at all. :( It doesn't surprise me that this anniversary doesn't mean much anymore; it was a chance for us to become a better country and we dropped the ball.
